CNNH Lego® -Based Social Skill Groups
CNNH LEGO (R) -Based Social Skills Group is a collaborative play group in which children work together to build LEGO(R) models. The task of building is divided into different roles, such that social interaction is necessary to participate. By doing this, children practice key skills of collaboration, joint attention, division of tasks, sharing, turn-taking, purposeful eye gaze, verbal and nonverbal communication. Natural opportunities are used to practice social communication, social support, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Who is LEGO(R) -Based Social Skills for?
The program was initially developed for children with autism spectrum disorders. It may also be helpful for children with other social communication difficulties, anxiety disorders, depression, or ADHD.
